Albert Cano Smit
Pianist Albert Cano Smit is already becoming a public favorite thanks to his performances as a soloist with orchestra and in concert. He has performed with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, Las Vegas Philharmonic Orchestra, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Boca del Río Philharmonic Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and National of Catalonia, Camerata of Manchester, Nottingham Youth Orchestra and United States Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Cano Smit received the first prize at the Young Concert Artists International Auditions 2019. He was also the winner of the 2017 Walter W. Naumburg International Piano Competition, which presented him in concert at Carnegie's Weill Hall. Most recently, in 2020, he received the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Prize from The Juilliard School. This season he will debut in New York, presented by Young Concert Artists.
He is currently studying music with R. McDonald at The Juilliard School. He had previously been a disciple of O. Shihor, G. Caskie and M. Karbownicka, among others. Cano Smit is a student at the Colburn School of Performing Arts and the Verbier Festival Academy.
