Andreas Ottensamer
BIOGRAPHY
He is the first clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic. As a soloist, he often performs with major international orchestras under the baton of conductors such as Mariss Jansons, Sir Simon Rattle, Andris Nelsons, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Daniel Harding, Alan Gilbert and Lorenzo Viotti.
As a chamber musician, he collaborates with Yuja Wang, Leonidas Kavakos, Janine Jansen, Lisa Batiashvili, Nemanja Radulovic, Nicolas Altstaedt and Sol Gabetta. In 2005 he founded The Clarinotts, a clarinet trio with his father and brother. He is artistic director of the Bürgenstock Festival in Switzerland and the Artström Festival in Berlin.
This season he is a guest soloist with the Dalasinfoniettan of Sweden, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and the National of Catalonia and the Salzburg Festival. He made his debut conducting the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and embarked on a European tour in trio with Gautier Capuçon and Yuja Wang. He also records his arrangement of the Lieder ohne Worte (Songs without words) by Mendelssohn with the Schumann Quartet for Deutsche Gramophon.
