Barcelona Modern Ensemble
Founded in 2004 and completely renewed since in 2013 when the composer Demian Luna assumes its artistic direction. Composed of elite performers specialized in contemporary repertoire, the ensemble evolves and advances at a steady pace, being already a reference of the country's contemporary music. The task of recent years is based mainly on contemporary, actual and new creation music, and the interpretation and subsequent dissemination of young emerging values of contemporary Spanish and world music, as well as established composers.
Since 2014, it is the resident ensemble of the Barcelona Modern International Composition Course, working on the work of the guests composers. The ensemble has performed in prestigious venues and festivals, including L'Auditori de Barcelona, Auditorio 400 MNCARS in Madrid, the Festival Spanien Modern in Vienna, the Festival Aujord'hui Musiques in Perpignan and the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, among others.
