Maestro Colomer has served as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Eastern Music Festival in the United States of America, the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra in South Korea, the Orchestre de Picardie in France, the Orquestra Simfònica de Balears, the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga in Spain. In 1983 he created the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE), and in 1988 the Cadaqués Orchestra. He records for Auvidis-Naïve, Assai, Harmonia Mundi, Calliope, Triton, Naxos, Ensayo, Virgin and Philips. His catalog includes works by Beethoven, Bernstein, Schumann, Fauré, Gerhard, Ginastera, Guinjoan, Honegger, Milhaud, Tchaikovsky, Weill, Ballad, Nillni and Lavista. They are considered reference versions Atlantis by Fault, The Plague by Gerhard and the Aranjuez concert by Rodrigo with Paco de Lucía. Designated "Chevalier dans l'ordre des palmes académiques" in 2002, he is currently a member of the National Council of Culture and the Arts (CONCA).
