Born in Reus in 1988, he began composing with Ramon Humet. He later studied at the ESMUC in Barcelona with Agustí Charles, in Graz with Beat Furrer and at the Paris Conservatory with Stefano Gervasoni. He has been a laureate of the Villa Medici in Rome, a member of the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid, a resident composer at La Pedrera (2018/2019), at Palau de la Música Catalana (2019/2020) and at Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical in Madrid (2020/2021). This season he is a resident composer at L'Auditori de Barcelona (2021/2022).
His music has been performed by orchestras, groups and soloists such as the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Diotima Quartet, the Spanish National Orchestra, the OBC, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the RTVE Orchestra, Les éléments, the Gerhard Quartet, the Cosmos Quartet, the Azahar Ensemble, the Kebyart Ensemble, Carlos Mena, Gérard Caussé, Iñaki Alberdi, Joel Bardolet and Carles Marigó, among others, and in contexts such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Lucerne Festival, the BOZAR in Brussels, the Heidelberger Frühling, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Peralada Festival, L'Auditori de Barcelona, the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Madrid National Auditorium, the Grand Théâtre de Provence, the Torroella Festival, the Girona Classical Nights and the Fondation Royaumont, among others. In the field of opera he has presented, with the playwright Marc Rosich, Diàlegs de Tirant e Carmesina (with Isabella Gaudí, Anna Alàs and Josep Ramon Olivé, musical direction by Francesc Prat and stage space by Jaume Plensa), a co-production of Òpera de Butxaca and Nova Creació, the Peralada Festival and the Gran Teatre del Liceu. His stage work Intérieur (on the play of the same name by Maurice Maeterlinck) premiered in October 2021 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
He has been awarded several prizes, including the XXXI Reina Sofía Prize for Musical Composition, Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation. His works are published by Éditions Durand and Ficta.
