He is a saxophonist and clarinetist, fond of composition and arrangements for different instrumental formats. Lluc is the first person from the Iberian Peninsula to study the prestigious Artist Diploma program at the Juilliard School in New York, with teachers like W. Marsalis, K. Washington or B. Wolfe. Before that, he studied at the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) and the master's degree in CvA (Conservatorium Van Amsterdam) with F. Povel. He also participated in a half-year exchange with the Temple University in Philadelphia, where he studied with the famous saxophonist D. Oatts.
Sketches Overseas (Outside In Music 2018) is his latest album as a leader, it was recorded in New York and won the award for best jazz album given by the group Enderrock. His first album as a leader, RED (Temps Records 2015), took him to play on the most important stages in Amsterdam and Barcelona. In addition, he has recorded more than 20 albums as a sideman.
He has played at some of the most important festivals in Europe such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Marciac Jazz Festival, Middelheim Jazz, Baloise Session and the Terrassa Jazz Festival, among others. He has also played at clubs such as Dizzy's Club Coca Cola and Fat Cat in New York, Bimhuis in Amsterdam, Jamboree in Barcelona and Jazz at Lincoln Center in Shanghai.
One of the most important moments of his career was recently, when he was invited by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, with W. Marsalis, to play a song in a crowded Palau de la Música Catalana, in February in 2020.
