BIOGRAPHY
After graduating in Instrument Pedagogy (ESMUC 2011), she won a scholarship to go to Berklee College of Music (Boston), where she obtained a diploma in Performance (2014), and a master's degree in Music Contemporary Performance (Summa Cum Laude) at the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute (2016). After doing pedagogical internships at the Fedujazz Foundation in the Dominican Republic, she returned to Catalonia where she consolidated her position as an artist and pedagogue by performing and training all over the country and releasing her first solo album Per sempre.
Marta Roma builds her own artistic path by playing with the cello and the voice without stylistic labels, crossing barriers, improvising and knowing cultures and other ways of saying things. She has traveled all over the world –Philippines, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Brazil, Japan, etc.– and with artists such as A.R. Rahman, Susana Baca, Danilo Pérez and Jarabe de Palo, among others.
