With a successful career, the Spanish mezzo-soprano is critically acclaimed for the "beauty of her voice, the excellent musicality and her compelling stage presence." She is especially applauded for her performances of Carmen, an opera he has performed at the MET in New York, the Royal Opera House in London, the Arena di Verona, the Bolshoi Theater in Russia, as well as in Berlin, Munich, Dresden, Sydney and Japan, among others.
Last season he sang Samson and Delilah at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Bernarda Alba at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, The Favorite at the Teatro Cervantes in Málaga, The Tales of Hoffmann in Beijing, Florence in the Amazon in Houston and Washington, The wild cat in Los Angeles, and made his debut at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires with The Italian in Algiers and at the New York MET with Salome.
