The Mallorcan pianist is passionate about avant-garde, contemporary music and multidisciplinarity. Flexibility, curiosity, energy, motivation and enthusiasm make Neus Estarellas a highly sought-after pianist and performer.
Neus performs as a soloist and chamber/ensemble musician in venues and festivals such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Éclat Stuttgart Festival, Palau de la Música Catalana, Bodies New York Resonant Festival, Wien Modern Festival, Contemporary Music Festival in Aalborg Denmark, Achtbrücken Festival Cologne, Auditorio Reina Sofia, Theaterhaus Stuttgart, L'Auditori de Barcelona, Stadttheater Gießen, Fondation Bullukian Lyon or Villa Elisabeth Berlin. Her interest in unique instruments such as teremin and toy piano, performance and musical theater led her to perform stage concerts under the direction of playwrights such as H. Goebbels, P. Schimanski and I. Kranabetter; and performances at the Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik festival and at the ZKM Karlsruhe and Futurium Museum Berlin.
She is a member of the contemporary music ensembles Suono Mobile Global and Mobile Beats, and collaborates with many others such as Ensemble Ascolta Stuttgart, Garatge Ensemble in Cologne, Crossing Lines Barcelona and Ensemble Modus Novus Madrid. She works closely with composers such as M. Spahlinger, B. Furrer, B. Lang, I. Poppe, M. Maierhof, L. Codera, P. Ablinger or M. Marcoll.
Pianists N. Hodges, U. Wiget and K. Gerstein, the Frankfurt Modern Ensemble, artistic residencies in Paris and Frankfurt have had a special influence on her professional development. Neus has also been awarded more than twenty times in different competitions such as the Karlsruher Wettbewerb für Zeitgenössische Musik, DAAD, Premi Primer Palau Barcelona, Premi de Música de Manresa, Arjau, Art Jove, Concurs Rotary Club Palma de Mallorca, Vila de Capdepera International Piano Competition and Ciutat de Palma International Piano Competition, among others. She has also made recordings for Catalunya Ràdio, ORF, SWR, Radio Nacional de España, HR, and DeutschlandRadio.
At the pedagogical level, she directs the contemporary music classroom for piano at the Hochschule für Musik in Nuremberg, and is a teacher at the Conservatory of the Balearic Islands.
