Winner of the Cadaqués Orchestra International Conducting Competition in 2017, Nuno Coelho is the guest conductor of the Lisbon Gulbenkian Orchestra.
In addition to projects with the Gulbenkian, in the 2021-22 season he will make his debut with the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Staatsorchester Hannover, the Helsinki Philharmonic, the Gävle Symphony, the Malmö Symphony, the Luxembourg Philharmonic, the The Hague Resident Orchestra, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and the Lille National Orchestra. In addition, he will return to the Galician Symphony Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Spanish Radio Television Symphony Orchestra and the Noord Nederlands Orkest.
During the last seasons he made his debut with the Symphony of Hamburg, the Orchestra Beethoven Bonn, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Symphony orchestra of Castilla y León, the Porto Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Regio Theater of Turin and the Ulster Orchestra. In 2019 he replaced Bernard Haitink to conduct the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and during the 2018-19 season he conducted Los Angeles Philharmonic as a “Dudamel Fellowship”.
In theater, Nuno has directed the productions of La traviata , Cavalleria rusticana , Rusalka and the Seven Deadly Sins by K. Weill. Future opera projects include Così fan tutte and Inês de Castro in Lisbon and Hänsel und Gretel in Oviedo.
