Born in Oviedo, he studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Recognized as one of the most versatile and passionate conductors of his generation, Pablo González has been principal conductor of the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and National of Catalonia, guest principal conductor of the City of Granada Orchestra and assistant conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of London. He is currently the principal conductor of the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and artistic advisor to the RTVE Orchestra and Choir.
His recent and upcoming engagements include performances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Hallé, Helsinki Philharmonic, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Dresden Philharmonic, Gürzenich Orchestre Köln, Strasbourg Philharmonic, Lille National Orchestra, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico or Philharmonic of Buenos Aires, among others.
He has conducted operas such as Don Giovanni, L’elisir d’amore, Carmen, Una voce in off, La voix humaine, Die Zauberflöte, Daphne and Rienzi, Tosca and Madama Butterfly. He has collaborated with numerous soloists such as M. Vengerov, N. Luganski, J. Perianes, K. Buniatishvili, B. Rana, R. Capuçon, S. Gabetta, I. Faust, FP Zimmermann and V. Mullova, among others. He has recorded a monograph of Granados, the suites of Carmen and L'Arlésienne by Bizet with the OBC (Naxos) and works by Schumann with L. Neudauer, awarded the International Classical Music Award. He will soon record a CD with music by E. Moor with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern.
