The energy, rhythm and voices of gospel have a vital and infectious magnetism. Concerts become unforgettable group experiences in which the performers and the audience move together. “It brings us closer to what is usually referred to as catharsis; it raises your spirit to unexpected levels,” asserts Pascual Vilaplana. “It goes beyond the strict realms of music and reaches the domain of human emotion,” states Ramon Escalé.
The Barcelona Gospel Messengers join the Municipal Band to offer an unprecedented artistic creation at the highest level. The repertoire includes traditional themes, such as Satan We're Gonna Tear Your Kingdom Down o Yes Lord, Yes by the artist Shirley Caesar –with a record of 12 Grammy Awards–, contemporary ballads or updated versions of classics of the genre.
The concert will start with a piece by David Mancini, originally written for drums and percussion, in a symphony band arrangement written by the Valencian composer Jesús Salvador “Chapi”.
Abuelo Bio and deliCatalia sponsor the participation of Javier Eguillor in this concert.
