GABRIEL FAURÉ: Pavana in F sharp minor, op. 50 (1887)
MAURICE RAVEL: Pavana of the Sleeping Beauty, with piano for four hands
MAURICE RAVEL: Ma mère l’oye (1911)
The OBC presents a journey through the dances of Maurice Ravel. Sleeping Beauty, Little Thumb, the Beauty and the Beast and other characters from Charles Perrault's fairy tales are the protagonists of the ballet Ma mère l’oye, a door open to an enchanted world full of magic that serves as a starting point for a choreographic work on stage. Ravel's sensitivity masterfully captures the universe of fantasy: free, vivid and colorful dances that show the most tender face of a composer fascinated by childhood.
