Repertoire
L'Auditori premieres OFFSTAGE, a new audiovisual project of in-depth interviews. In this first season OFFSTAGE focuses on the composers who premiere works this season at L'Auditori. Bernat Vivancos, Joan Magrané, Enric Palomar and Raquel García Tomás star in the first four chapters. Journalist Anna Guitart is the host of the interviews that reveal the most personal facets and artistic concerns of the most stimulating composers of the current scene.
In this second chapter we talk to Joan Magrané (Reus, 1988) from L'Ateneu Barcelonès, a space full of culture, beyond music, which allows him to refresh his mind between scores. A composer rooted in the foundations of the Western cultural tradition, particularly in the universe of Renaissance polyphony, the result of his work is a clear sound, free of superfluous elements and with a geometric depth. His vocabulary is full of suggestive figures and poetry is one of the source that nourishes his pieces.
